Established 60 years ago on the Atlantic Coast of France, Dufour plays an important role in the production of sailing yachts.With a production capacity of more than 18.000 m² and 420 full-time employees, Dufour counts among the biggest shipyards in the world.
Distinctive styling, innovative ideas and a dedication to excellence are some of the main traits that distinguish Dufour Sailing Yachts.
In 1964 Michel Dufour worked as an engineer in a locomotive factory he was In charge of the workshop that fabricated parts out of a revolutionary new material fibreglass. Michel Dufour was quick to realise the potential of using fibreglass in boat building. Over 400 models were sold between 1964 and 1974 and launched the company soon to be known as Dufour Yachts. In 2020 Dufour marks a new stage with the arrival of Fountaine Pajot. In 2023 the shipyard unveils two new models: the Dufour 37, which received the innovation award at her launch in Genoa and has also received the title of Best Boat of the Year by American magazine SAIL and the Dufour 41, successor to the Dufour 390 and 412.
